Imagine a bustling factory floor where machines whir and clank and workers move with precision and purpose. Amid the organized chaos is effective material handling that ensures the seamless flow of goods and supplies and powers the gears of production and distribution.

Quality Material Handling (QMH) stands tall as a family-owned company that has been in this game for over three decades. A business that was started out of a living room, it has grown into a multi million-dollar brand that is transforming the material handling space.

“We are committed to taking on our customer’s most complex problems and solving them with our turnkey projects. We don’t just ship goods from our warehouse; we meticulously oversee the entire journey, ensuring that every step is executed with precision and care,” says Julia Pinto, COO of QMH.

The industry recently exhibited a growing need for expeditious delivery services, primarily attributed to the ever-evolving pace of the market and the unprecedented disruption caused by the pandemic. QMH adapts rapidly to shifting needs and provides prompt service. It prides itself on being a reliable partner that provides rapid and efficient solutions to clients, regardless of the challenges.

QMH’s in-house team of experienced professionals designs, installs, and maintains material handling solutions. It also provides emergency and after-hours support for all equipment and systems. In-house capabilities give it a competitive edge over companies relying solely on subcontractors. With access to extensive internal and external resources, it can provide complete and efficient solutions tailored to client needs. The utilization of technology and field guides ensures seamless connectivity and collaboration across teams and locations, providing easy access to relevant information for better customer support.

The onboarding process begins in the customer relationship management (CRM) system. Custom fields are created within the CRM for the sales team to enter project-related information like objectives, outcomes, lead times, and any other relevant comments or notes. Once this information is entered, it is automatically transferred to the project management software, providing the project team with all the necessary information to communicate the project details to the customer.

QMH ensures that it is on the same page as the customer by verifying that the information provided aligns with their expectations, and smoothly executes the project after kickoff.

QMH assists customers with city compliance and regulations by ensuring that their facilities meet safety standards set by local authorities. This includes upgrading fire suppression systems and modifying equipment to protect employees and inventory. The company keeps its customers informed of any changes to codes and regulations in order to ensure compliance and safety.

Team performance is monitored through a dashboard system equipped with key performance indicators. It evaluates the team’s ability to contact customers within 24 hours of contract receipt, identifies project timeline issues, and resolves bottlenecks.

The exceptional capabilities of QMH were demonstrated through a recent project at a client site. The concrete flooring was slanted causing their system to be out of compliance with the RMI code. The frames were leaning, sometimes more than 6” out of alignment, creating an unsafe work environment. QMH installed custom-made milled shims to counteract the degree of the floor, leveling the system and bringing the system back to compliance.

The project required significant coordination, as the customer’s facility was nearly at full capacity and needed to unload its inventory to complete the work. The team was on-site the entire time, collaborating closely with the customer to minimize disruptions and ensure a seamless process. It was a testament to the benefits of partnering with QMH, which can deploy its in-house team of contractors and provide adaptable support as required. This flexibility enabled the completion of urgent tasks and ensured adherence to the customer’s schedule, ultimately delivering a safe and fully operational facility.

QMH is a company that lives up to its name by providing exceptional services to help clients optimize their warehouse operations. Embracing a never give up attitude, QMH is always up for a challenge.
